Happy New Year!!!

New Years 2012

30 Dec

I don’t normally do New Years Resolutions but I saw these 2 ideas and thought they looked quite good.

The first one is for kids, it would be a cool idea to do every year… it would be fun to see how they change over the years. We already do one for every birthday, but this is a bit different.

And this one is for me, I like that its different from “normal” resolutions.

Not long to go until the New Year… I hope that you all enjoy the last few days of 2011 and that 2012 is a wonderful year!

This morning Tom Kat Studio posted a free 2012 Calendar that can be printed off.

It is so simple and yet super cute! If you want to grab your own copy then head over here to download it.

Thanks Kim for the printable!

Summer Holiday

28 Dec

We are not venturing far from home this summer so yesterday we decided to explore somewhere close to home. We headed out of town to find a waterfall and a beach.

The waterfall was gorgeous! We started at the top, and walked all the way to the bottom. The view was magnificent:

Unfortunately, once we had climbed down we had to climb all the stairs back up! I was carrying Miss Delightful in the backpack, but at the halfway mark I had to pass her off to Mr Wonderful, my knees were aching and my legs were shaking! Guess I’m really not that fit! The view was still amazing!

Then we hopped back in the car and made our way down to Raglan, we didn’t go out to the official beach cause it’s a surf beach and we wanted something tame for Miss D. So we stopped at the estuary, along with about a million other people!

We eventually found a place to park and had a picnic in the sun. Then Miss D and I went for a paddle in the water:

Mr W came in for a little bit, but he wasn’t feeling so great and the wind was a bit cool. Once we packed up the car we stopped off for a nice refreshing ice cream before driving home. Everyone was a bit tired after our big adventure! I think today will be a quiet “at home” kind of day!

Be Natural Cereal Review

27 Dec

A few weeks ago I was sent a couple of boxes of Be Natural Cereal and some muesli bars to try. There were 3 different flavours, Pink Lady Apple & Flame Raisin; Cashew, Almond, Hazelnut & Coconut; and 5 Whole Grain Flakes. So far we have tried the Pink Lady & Flame Raisin and it was delicious!

We added strawberries on top, fresh from our garden. The cereal didn’t necessarily need them, as it was yummy on it’s own. But the one thing we noted about the cereal alone was it was not sweet like most cereals. The strawberries added a little bit of sweetness to it!

Be Natural says that their entire range of food is free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives. And they are trying to make “real food” available for everyone to enjoy… it shows with their prices! The cereal seems to be selling for around $6.50. I would definitely buy this cereal!

We are looking forward to trying the next 2 boxes! But we are only opening one at a time to savour the yumminess! Thank you Be Natural for letting us try your creations.

Christmas Day 2011

26 Dec

We had a lovely day yesterday celebrating Christmas, Jesus’s birth and eating lots of food!

We started the day off at 5:30am!! Miss Delightful was ready to get up then… we managed to have snuggle time until 6:45am… then it was straight into the stockings!

Breakfast was a feast of waffles, with lots of strawberries and blueberries.
Then we opened presents! Love her face in this one… she was busy saying “ohhhh!!!”

Then it was time to take a break, we skyped my parents, brother, sister-in-law and Grandma who are all in California. We cooked the honey glazed ham and at 1:30pm we sat down to eat our meal!

Miss Delightful had a midday nap while we were eating, she was exhausted since she started the day so early, and she had a late night on Christmas Eve going to our church service. The afternoon was spent quietly resting… and then we walked to the playground so Miss D could let of some energy.

Today, Boxing Day, we braved the shops to get a bargin! We bought ourselves some outdoor furniture to use on our patio! We saved $800 on it!! We probably wont see it until January, as we are getting it delivered and I doubt they will get here before then! Then we spent the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the sunshine. I’m going to bed early tonight, not sure what tomorrow will involve, but I’m sure it will be fun!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas day!
