Bathroom Wall Art

February3

We have now been in our house for over a year and the other day I decided it was finally time to put something up on Miss D’s bathroom wall.

I found some cute printables that I downloaded. I honestly can’t remember where I got them from, I’m shocking I know! I will keep searching, if I find the website I will share it.

There were about 7 or 8 different printables, I chose to use 4 for now, but I might add some more later.

Here are my 4:

I bought some cheap frames from the $2 shop and painted them green and yellow. It was such an easy job and I’m happy with how it turned out!

2012 Creative Challenge #1

January26

I have started my 2012 Creative Challenge… I decided last year that I was going to make something every 2 weeks for the whole of 2012. I scrapped the first 2 weeks of the year because I knew they would be so busy that I wouldn’t get anything done. I have found about half of the items I want to make, but I know that there will be plenty more that I come across over the year!

Anyway.. the first challenge was to make some clear toy storage bags. I followed Ashley’s awesome tutorial over at Make it, Love it.

I love how they turned out.

So far I have made 2, a big one and a small one, and I have enough material to make a couple more! I’m going to use them to attempt to keep Miss D’s toys a bit more organised, and I thought I would turn a couple into “quiet time bags” filled with little goodies/activities that can be played with when I need Miss D to be entertained!!

I still have 3 days left before I start my next project, so hopefully I can get a few more made before then. I was definitely faster on the second bag than the first!

Summer Subway Art

January25

I know that we are well into Summer now, and this may be coming a bit late for some people… but Christmas seemed to distract me from the fact that it was Summer time! So this week I finally got around to making some Summer Subway Art. I couldn’t find any that I really liked to download, so I took a few people’s ideas and combined them to make my own, and I changed a few words as well.

If you want to get your own copy head over here to download it.

Enjoy!

Handmade Christmas Gifts

January14

Here are all the gifts that I made for 2011 Christmas, it was lots of fun… but I am really glad I started creating way back in September!

For Mr Wonderful I made a Sofa Caddy for all his remotes:

Miss Delightful got animals pillows:

My Mum got a two handed oven mitt:

My Dad got a Coffee Cozy for his plunger coffee:

My brother and sister-in-law got a re-useable bag filled with NZ goodies:

Mr Wonderful’s parents got some tea towels:

Mr Wonderful’s family is considered rather large (4 kids all married with 3 kids each)… so we buy for one family unit a year, this year we were buying for his sister and her family in Melbourne.
The parents got a re-useable bag filled with goodies:

The boys got a dress-up cape each:

And the precious baby girl of the family got a cuddly bunny:

And we have dear friends who are “aunty & uncle & cousins” to Miss D, so we do Christmas presents with them.
“Aunty” got some fabric coasters:

“Uncle” got some yummy treats:

Miss 3 got a scrap pillow:

And Mr 2 got a dress-up cape:

I learnt a lot with this challenge, I had to watch a few tutorials, especially with Mr W’s caddy! I might even consider doing it again this year… maybe!

Ornament Swap – my creations

November29

I think that most of the ladies in my group should have received their ornaments by now. So I can finally share them with you!

I made 2 versions, a heart and a star. And each one had a different word on it. The words were faith, love, peace, hope and shine.

I had lots of fun making them, and even made a few extra for a couple of other lovely people in my life! There will also be one on our tree this year too!

I have received 2 of my ornaments so far, and I look forward to getting the other ones! It’s always nice to find a package in my mailbox! :)

Christmas is coming!

November29

Last night Mr Wonderful turned on some Christmas music and I started decorating!

I got my nativity scene set up, I added the frames, I blogged about the art work here:

And my stocking holders with the Subway Art and glitter trees that I made last year:

And today Miss Delightful and I went to choose our Christmas tree!

It will be delivered on Saturday morning! Yay! Christmas really is coming :)
