Exciting Kids Books

Storytime online

October10

I am always on the look out for cool things to do with Miss Delightful. I love doing things with her, but sometimes it is good to have independent activities as well. Miss D loves to read and be read to so when I saw this on Pinterest I was over the moon!

Barnes & Noble have 13 kids books online that have been read by the authors. They show the pages of the books as well. Miss D has now listened to 2 of the stories and loves it. She thinks she is such a big girl to be using the computer without Mum or Dad and she really enjoys having the book read to her. It’s also a nice break from reading for us too! She has been asking all afternoon for another one, but I think we will have to spread them out, they do add new books each month but I don’t want her getting bored of it too quickly!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

September17

This is another wonderful kids book that Miss Delightful really enjoys. She especially likes putting her finger through all the holes.

The story is about a caterpillar who is very hungry, it follows him as he finds different things to eat. And at the end he turns into a beautiful butterfly. The pictures are very bright and colourful and the story is short enough to keep a one year old interested!

(I have not been asked to review this book… I just like sharing the books that we are currently enjoying in our house!)

Where’s Spot

September10

This is a book that Miss Delightful adores. She loves lifting the flaps on each page. Basically Spot has hidden himself and his Mum is looking for him. She looks in all sorts of places but there is always a different animal hiding. Miss D loves this part, and each time she lifts a flap she says “no”! At the end of the book Mum finds Spot and he eats his dinner. The story is very simple but lots of fun.

Dear Zoo

March9

This book is super cute. I even remember reading it when I was young! Miss D really enjoys looking at the animals and will one day learn to lift the flaps herself. I think this book works really well because it is short and simple. She gets a bit bored with longer books, but because each page only has a few words she is kept interested in it!

That's not my baby…

February26

Miss Delightful loves this book! My friend introduced me to these books and they are amazing! They are so simple and easy to read and touch! We got this one out of the library this morning and I think Miss D would read it all day if possible. She loves touching the soft hat on the front and REALLY loves looking at herself in the mirror on the last page! I’m going to try and find more of them for her!
