Triathlon

20 Dec

I have just registered myself for the Contact Tri Woman Triathlon in February!! AHHHH! :) I am excited and nervous at the same time! I know that I will feel so proud of myself when it is all over, but until then I am going to be super scared! I am not a good runner, so that will be my weak point… although swimming and biking are not necessarily my strong points either! hehe! But I am working on it. So over the next 7 weeks I am going to look like a tomato a lot!

Mr Wonderful is being so encouraging and helpful. He is a natural athlete so he is doing a fantastic job at helping out! I love that when we go for runs (or should I say jogs/walks) he lets me set the pace so that I don’t die to quickly!

If anyone out there reading this has completed a triathlon before, I’d love to hear any tips, tricks or general advice you have to share! :)

My face…

19 Dec

This is what my face looks like right now:

hehe :) I am honestly as red as a tomato! But all for a very good reason. I just went for a 4.5km bike ride followed immediately by a 2.5km jog/walk! I am so proud of myself… only a few weeks ago I was a total couch potato!

I know I am going to be sore tomorrow, but it is all worth it!

80kms complete!!!

11 Dec

But I’m not done yet :) This morning Mr Wonderful and I went out for a walk/jog around the lake which finished off my 80kms! But I still have a few days to go till I reach 80 days…. so I am going to keep adding the kms :)

When I finish the whole 80 days I will let you know how far I walked/jogged and how much time I spent exercising!

I am proud of myself to have finished this far in advance. When I did the 100km challenge earlier in the year I finished on the last day, but this time I have motored along :)

I hope my 80km buddies are doing well!

I’m on fire!

6 Dec

I am so excited… cause I am so far ahead in my 80km challenge! I haven’t blogged about in a while, but I found my motivation again! The last 3 days I have gone for a 30 minute walk/run each day, and it feels fantastic! I am now up to 72kms in 67days, so I think I will be finishing on time and hopefully ahead. I’d still like to keep going to the full 80 days even if I pass the 80km mark.

And I am enjoying it so much that I am now looking into the possibility of doing a duathlon or something similar next year!

I’d love to know how my 80km buddies are doing!?! Are you going to complete your 80kms on time? I hope that you will at least be close to it!

Now I am off to bed to rest my aching muscles!

80km update

16 Nov

I have been really struggling to get out moving over the last few days (all 10 of them in fact!)… but today I finally went for a walk. I powered it around the lake, 3.7kms in 35 minutes! Woohoo! It used to take me 45 minutes, so I’m stoked with how fast I was. It was hot out there and I was puffed when I got back to the car. My legs are sore now, so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to move tomorrow! hehe!

I have now managed to walk 40 of my 80kms… I have another 40 to go in 33 days! I don’t know if I will make it, but I’m going to try!

80km buddies… how are you all doing? Are you going to finish in time? I hope so!! :)

80kms – where’s the motivation??

3 Nov

I am approaching the halfway mark in my 80km challenge and I am really struggling with motivation! The last time I challenged myself (to walk 100kms) I managed to do it and somehow stayed motivated the whole time. But I just don’t want to walk at the moment!

I guess it doesn’t help that I have been sick for about a week and a half and my poor body is still recovering. But even before that I didn’t really want to get out for a walk. I made myself walk to the mall yesterday, which is about 4kms round trip but I am definitely not doing a daily walk!

I am wondering how my other 80km ladies are doing with their walking? How are they keeping motivated? Any little tricks to get me out walking? :)
